Villa Noir

{Dress: Modcloth -- Tights: H&M -- Oxfords: Bass -- Purse: UO}

Hi Lovelies. Today was quite a nice vacation day because instead of just sitting around the house doing nothing I went to a really beautiful museum. The Getty Villa, which is located in Malibu, used to be a private residence for the Getty family, but has since been donated and is open to the public. Inside this spectacular house {which has some killer views of the Pacific ocean} you will find hundreds of artifacts from the Roman Empire and Ancient Greece. They had everything from beautifully carved marble to fascinating old jewelry and coins. It is just incredible the amount of detail that went into items such a long time ago. I often find myself thinking that if I had not gone to school for Fashion Merchandising I would have chosen history. There is so much to be learned from the past and, luckily for me, I enjoying learning!

The museum also turned out to be a great back drop for some outfit pictures. Surprisingly enough I didn't have every person staring at me while I took pictures either, which was a nice surprise. I probably could have taken a million more pictures because there were so many spots where I could not help saying out loud "ooh this would be a great background for outfit pictures". I actually say this a lot, wherever I am, which I am sure annoys my family and friends to no end. But what can I say, I love blogging!

Hope you are having a great start to your New Year

That place looks so cool. I always love looking at stuff from ancient civilizations. It's my favorite type of history to learn about.

Also this dress is so so pretty. I love the lace detailing. It looks wonderful on you!
