Before The Storm

{Shoes: Toms -- Skirt: Forever 21 -- Top: Urban Outfitters -- Cardigan: Thrifted -- Necklace: Hand Made -- Purse: DSW}

Hi everyone!
Long time no see! Really though, it has been a while. I've missed the whole blogging community and am hoping to get back in the swing of things now that school is over. A lot has changed since my last post, and I can honestly say I am extremely happy with my life right now. I've kept with eating healthy and exercising on a regular basis. I even ran in my first race, a 10k, down by the beach. I've somehow managed A's in my classes this semester and soon enough I'll be heading back home to California for a full two months. Can't wait to be with my mom again, seriously have missed her while I've been away.

As far as this outfit goes I was really pleased with the over all feel of it. I wanted to dress my typical vintage/indie but make it much more casual. I feel I'm often over dressed for most things so I've just been working on that lately. When I was at the mall on Monday I spotted this skirt at Forever 21 and was in complete shock. I mean Forever 21 actually selling something long enough for someone tall?! Wahoo and it has this really adorable paper bag waist, not to mention the belt was included! I love finding new staple pieces and I was in sore need for a perfect black skirt.

But enough about me, what have you all been up to? Gosh it has been too long, I want to read all your blogs now :D

Lovely outfit! I usually feel really overdressed for most things too (mainly because everyone where I live usually just lives in jeans + tshirt haha!) so i know how you feel about wanting to dress a little bit more casual. Have a lovely week!

What a gorgeous skirt! I'm just as surprised as you are that it's from F21-- and that belt is fantastic! I've been looking for one like that for ages. What a great find!
By the way I'm just like you in the sense that I ALWAYS overdress for EVERYTHING. I don't think there's anything wrong with that, though. It's definitely better than underdressing. And it makes going out that much more fun!

Yayyyyy!! I missed you gal! You are looking as beautiful as ever, seriously, wow! And holy cow- way to go you for running a 10k!! I'd have died in the first 5 minutes (actually first 5 seconds.. haha!)

Your outfit is totally adorable, and hey I think the only way you could be overdressed is to wear a prom dress to grab some fast food. I dress up every day because I like to! You look gorg in your casual-ness - I always love your outfits :)

I'm so happy you're back! Hooray for being done with school and getting all A's. That's awesome!

I really like this casual outfit. It's perfect for summer. That black skirt is a great staple piece and looks so nice with your reddish cardigan. Such a pretty floral top too.
