The Watch Tower

One of the best parts of living in the country, besides the peace and quiet, is all the lovely place you can take pictures at! These ones were shot at a dam, only a five minute drive from my house. Not only was it nice to have a new backdrop for outfit pictures, but it was so soothing to listen to the water flowing beneath me and the fresh wind blowing through my hair. I must admit I've become quite accustomed to the slower pace of life out in the middle of no where and, when the time comes, I have to move on, I'll truly miss this place.

One place I will miss the most is probably our bike trail, which is a path running through the woods and next to a creek, it once was railway tracks. I can't wait till spring and I'll by riding my bike through the heavily shaded trail and stopping for picnics and even perhaps pictures!

I don't believe I have mentioned it on here yet, but I've started running. Now I've never really enjoyed running, in the past I've always viewed it as a punishment. But my boyfriend's sister and mom have truly inspired me. They ran the half marathon at Disney in December and I was so awe struck by how empowered they felt after the race, how happy. I wanted to feel that too! Since I have started I feel much happier on a regular basis and it also seems that I can get more done than before. And now running has inspired me to even start eating healthy, which I believe is a large contributor to my new found joy in life. Everything feels right and I couldn't be more delighted.

I hope you are having as good a week as I am!

I'd love to start running too even though I hate it. I started back in November, but ended up stopping because I went home for break in December. Perhaps I'll have to try again!
Also, the colors in this outfit look great together. I love the navy dress with your rusty-colored cardigan. I actually wore a similar color combination today!

I know what you mean about living in the country...I lived in the city before my family moved to the country (aka the middle of nowhere) and while I'm a city girl at heart, nothing beats walks in the woods and sunsets on the lake. I'll miss it when I leave for college in a few years...

Aw, yay! I'm so proud of you for starting running! Doesn't it seriously make you feel healthier/better/motivated? Ya know, have you ever seen the documentary Forks Over Knives? I watched it a few weeks ago and it has seriously contributed to changing my life. You really should watch it! I think you'll love it.

Oh, and this outfit is darling. I love it.

P.S. Sorry for the ridiculously long comment!

These photos are so gorgeous! Did you do them yourself? I'm jealous of your lovely locations, there just aren't places like that close to me here in my little city.

You look gorgeous. I love the color palette. I've been getting back onto the 'healthy eating' bandwagon. I always forget home much BETTER it makes you feel and then kick myself for not eating that way every day.

i'm still a little weirded out by the idea of me like accidentally trepassing and trying to get my camera, tripod, and self off someone's lawn/tree/i dunno. i don't live in the country, per se, but the city i live in is fairly small, at least in comparison to where i grew up, so i am still trying to find new spots.

i love all of these - the red, blue and gold look amazing together - and your hair is ADORABLE. i used to do mine like that back when it was longer!

Loving the photo background! Those shoes are so cute with the tights, and that blue dress is so pretty. And good for you - keep up the running...I've always hated it too, but you do feel better after doing it :)

Oh my gosh you look so gorgeous! I absolutely love the color palette and location for sure ♥!

I loved living in the country when we did. We live in town now and I am constantly avoiding cars and stray dogs while trying to take outfit shots. Blah! Haha. :)

Congrats on your new found joy and running now! Your post you did on your mom was so truly inspiring. I was in tears after/during reading! :'). You go girl! Hey I have an idea, you could post some yummy healthy meals you've eaten and take pictures of the running paths you chose to take that day! (Well, I'm a creeper and I'd love to see stuff like that.. LOL)
